Having worked in what feels like every industry in my youth there will always be surprises and curve balls thrown your way, level of interestingness (not even sure that's a word) just seems to vary. In the industry of insulation between the customers answering the door in their underwear to the condition of their home (good and bad) I thought I could handle just about anything, seen it all, heard it all or some type of variation ya know?
Welp, not exactly the case when we finished up a pole barn in Metamora, Michigan, and the homeowner says "my neighbor has an interesting job for you if you think you're up for it?" Said why not and wondered over to the neighbors house. Upon getting there we were greeted by the house and barn set up of my dreams! I was pumped to see what we could do for this customer and how we could improve his gorgeous home.
After intros he laughs and informs me that its not for his house or one of his multiple barns, but his deer blind about a mile and a half into the woods that hes finishing before next deer season. Hm, a deer blind? The homeowner pretty much said he didn't think we could do the job because most big rigs wont fit back there. Lucky for him we take the idea of "mobile insulation" to a whole new level. The setup we work with most days is totally movable to help get into those tight areas and odd jobs. This being one of them. While hesitate the homeowner agreed to the price and we were back in the next few days. Took two trips with the mini dosser, and our gear on pallets, but we were off to the races! Job took us less than two hours to complete and was by far one of the coolest experiences I've had doing this job.
The goal was to be able to keep heat in and make it quite; so we filled the majority of the floor boards with open cell foam and the homeowner couldn't be happier. We are stoked to see what he shoots this upcoming deer season and for the awesome memories and confidence this job provided for us.
